Epocrates Drip Rate
The example
(see left) shown here is for
an ICU 20 pounds patient for whom
we decided to start a dopamine
infusion at a rate of 6
microgram/Kg/minute.
Knowing that each milliliter of a 5 ml
dopamine vial contains
5 milligrams we added the vial to 300
ml of normal saline.
Tapping on the generate
chart button yielded a very
easy to implement chart that helped
us adjust the increments of the
infusion.

    Drip rate calculator.
  • Free for download and a simple calculator of what usually takes considerable
    time at the bedside usually in critical situations.
  • This product allow us to determine the rate (in ml/hr) of infusion when we enter
    the drug/fluid volume and concentration.
  • Compatible with different units and quite easy to use with excellent results

  • Certainly an application that helps peds impressing their RNs!
  • Does not come as a stand alone product and can only be downloaded with
    other Epocrates packages.
