Three versions of the Red Book available from different venders:
1) AAP Store
2) Skyscape and
3) Unbound Medicine.
So which one should we go for?

The one available from AAP is in the Mobipocket format which is a very nice ebook reader and comfortable to navigate but the price is $109.95 for non members (99.95 if CD purchase!) and $94.95 for members! Check out this AAP page
Skyscape offers the same 2006 27th edition for $99.95 in the familiar Skyscape format which very user friendly but there are some difficulties with tables.
Unbound Medicine gives us exactly the same edition at exactly the same price but with additional web and wireless access!
Given what’s said, it seems that the best option is from Unbound Medicine, awaiting your comments!

In my opinion Skyscape is a better option. Their user interface, navigation and linking to other products makes it far superior. They also provide a desktop versions for their products and wireless updates are also available for Skyscape products. I believe trials are available from Skyscape and Unbound, so it would be worth downloading trials and see what you feel most comfortable with.
Thank you ken00 for your comment,
I agree with you on the following points;
1) Skyscape library is bigger and all titles can be cross linked, However Unbound’s Pediatrics Central is a step towards better cross linking among their titles.
2) Skyscape’s interface may be somewaht easier to navigate.
3) better to try both platforms before purchasing.
I just don’t agree with you on the following points;
1) Web and wireless access means that you can use the product anywhere using any PDA (even iphone) or any desktop while in the case of skyscape you must use your computer or your PDA.
2) Wireless updates in Skyscape (in the case of the Red Book) are quite useless because this is an ebook and when a new edition is out you need to buy it eventually.
Finally I am not saying that Unbound Medicine is better than Skyscape in general. No doubt about it Skyscape provides better services and wider library in addition to more efficient support and members’ benefits and it is more widely used by pediatricians ”Check out this poll“. My Red Book choice was in the mere context of the Red Book itself regardless of the other parameters.
[...] However, as for me and may be for many other peds this offer might not be very tempting. Because we already have those softwares installed into our PDAs (See how common is Epocrates Essentials installed on pediatric PDAs) and the Red Book is already offered by two giants in medical softwares Skyscape and Unbound Medicine (read this post).
