Shots 2008, Again please NO Skyscape.

Once again The Society of Teachers of Family Medicine delights us with this newly updated 2008 version of their wonderful and free vaccine reference. Just like last year’s version Skyscape provides a similar product for $15 but please don’t buy it (know why) unless Skyscape changes mind and be realistic and provides a free version.

Just like 2007; the Palm, The Pocket PC, and the online versions are updated with the latest ACIP recommendations and the result is the most useful most updated and referenced vaccine tool ever available to the handheld.

    Dear Blog Administrator

    I am thinking of getting a Blackberry or iPhone. Is a free version of Shots available for either ? Does Skyscape have Shots for the Blackberry and/or iPhone ?

    Dear shelly29,

    If you did not purchase a Blackberry or iPhone yet then please HOLD ON, get yourself a Windows Mobile or a Palm. Because if you are a pediatrician then you will be missing several great products that are free and available only to the Windows Mobile and Palm OS, not only that but even most commercial pediatric/medical applications are NOT compatible with BB or iPhone.
    If you did get one of them already and you don’t want to change then your only option for Shots 2008 is Skyscape for $14.95 “check their download page” and make sure to choose the appropriate platform from the drop down list when you download.

    Also you may want to check PDAmedisoft as they have an excellent library of medical Blackberry programs.
